I was contacted through email by Logan, who had been referred to me by a mutual friend, and after looking through my Instagram, he got in touch. He told me about his exciting new project that he needed some promotional material for. He was launching a project called 'Free Agent' which is a concept store which involved it's customers by getting them to follow a ongoing spy story by viewing short clips on their social media.
We discussed ideas with each other and he sent me a scan with this ransom note text which he had created. He then sent me a photoshoot of promotional photographs for the store. He told me he liked the concept of my Zara Larsson single cover with the ripped textures, as well as Nelly Furtado's viral marketing campaign from last year, which again was mixed media. Together will all these ideas, I decided to create the flyer using some printed textures and the photographs from the photoshoot - ripped up to match the textures. I then photographed this arrangement and transferred to Photoshop. I then edited this to be black and white, and then cut out each letter individually from the ransom note text. I then decided to keep the ransom note in colour and the background in black and white to help the text stand out. Then to add the vital information, I added a black box at the bottom to place that information on. I then emailed this idea to Logan and he really liked it.
As well as the flyer, Logan also asked me to create a logo for him. He sent me a variety of examples that he liked including this Miami Jackson one. From this, I sent Logan a variety of experiments including handwritten text, different colour variants, and we finally decided on a final logo which is below with the final flyer.
